Patents serve as protection for inventors. Filing a patent application begins the process of seeking the exclusive right to own and manufacture a brand new innovation of property of utility, design, plant, or process of manufacture.



Is there a patent application fee?

Yes, there is an initial fee for applying for a patent. The fees differ depending on the kind of patent. The initial filing fee for a Utility Patent is $300; for a Design Patent $200; and for a $200 for a Plant Patent.
